Kitty Palooza is coming for cat lovers in Southwest Washington. All this weekend you can give a kitty a forever home without paying an adoption fee at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. It’s already kitty season and cat & kitten intake is up. As of Wednesday they had 478 cats and kittens.

Lavender season is in full bloom! Just outside Hillsboro, the Helvetia Lavender Festival lets you pick your own bundles, then stick around for local artisans, food, wine. At Willamette Valley Lavender in Canby you can pick your own, take part in wreathmaking workshops and shop all kinds of lavender products.

Want to help Portland top Seattle's Guinness World Record? This Sunday Portlanders are invited to help BIKETOWN create the largest electric bicycle party and ride with the goal of blowing past the record held by Seattle…they earned the Guinness World Record with 405 e-bikes in 2018. Check in is 8:30 Sunday at Salmon St. Springs.

The first of three Milwaukie Porchfests is Friday. Free performances on porches, driveways and public spaces across Milwaukie. People are encouraged to walk or bike their neighborhoods, meet their neighbors, and share their talents with the community.

The Portland Pride Festival kicks off at Waterfront Park Saturday at 12pm. The Parade steps off Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the North Park Blocks and concludes at the Festival at SW Harvey Milk Street. Always a fun, feel good time with live performances on multiple stages, activities.

Just up Harvey Milk Street at Midtown Beer Garden is "Play With Pride" Saturday and Sunday. Of course great brews, food carts and live performances from 12p-6p both days.

The mother of all tribute shows, HAREFEST returns to Canby. It's like adult summer camp with 20 live bands paying tribute to Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, Motley Crue,.. you get the picture. Horns up for Harefest at Clackamas County Fairgrounds Thursday-Saturday.

The Sherwood Robin Hood Festival runs July 17 and 18 with free admission, live performances on multiple stages, food, drinks and handmade goods throughout Old Town Sherwood. Friday runs 5 to 10 and Saturday runs 9 to 10, with the parade Saturday at 10. Entertainment ranges from rock to renaissance music, sword fighting and family activities. Free shuttles operate Saturday from Sherwood Plaza and Archer Glen Elementary.

The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is Friday through Sunday.

Sandy Mountain Festival returns July 18 from 9 to 5 at Gresham Arts Plaza with more than 150 Pacific Northwest artists, hands‑on interactive art, food vendors and all‑day entertainment. Families can enjoy free activities at the kids village. Music Under the Stars kicks things off July 17 from 5 to 9 along Main Avenue. Free parking, transit options and shuttles are available throughout Gresham.

ForestFest is happening July 18 at the World Forestry Center, and it’s a super easy, family‑friendly day out. You’ll find hands‑on activities, kid zones, games, live music, workshops, food vendors and even a traveling mill. Plus, you can dive into forest art, storytelling and stewardship. All the activities are free, and museum admission is free that day too. It runs 10 to 6.

If you love Dutch Bros, stop in Friday morning. $1 from every drink goes to Make A Wish, to grant wishes for kiddos facing the unimaginable in Oregon and SW Washington. You may even be greeted by a special Make A Wish guest barista.

Who needs therapy when you have ice cream. Food researchers found a serving of ice cream can be a “dose of happy” like nothing else. Make your way to the Scooped Ice Cream Festival at Esther Short Park in Vancouver this weekend. They’ll have over 50 ice cream flavors and it’s all you can eat for one price! Can you handle all that happy?

Portland’s Hollywood Theatre is turning 100 years old on Friday! They’re doing a whole week of special screenings including their on-going series like Kung Fu Theater, Repressed Cinema, and Can You Blame Her? But Thursday night you can see Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, a day early. Starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Travis Scott... no wonder it's 2 hrs and 52 min, gotta make sure all those big names get their screen time.

It’s one of the lowest tides of the year, what they call minus tides, at Cannon Beach. So lots of tide pools with marine life you don’t get to see often. Plus the Tufted Puffins are on Haystack Rock. If you’re Lincoln City bound be looking out for those handblown glass floats along the beaches, as the name says, Finders Keepers.

Gird your loins, The World Naked Bike Ride is next Saturday July 25 at Wilshire Park. So if you don't want to see, avoid the area in and around Wilshire Park at NE 33rd Avenue and Skidmore.

The Portlandia Mermaid Parade and Festival invites everyone to dress up as merfolk or other mythical water creatures Saturday, July 25, from noon to 4 p.m. The parade is free, open to all ages and you do not need to register in advance, though it is preferred on the parade website. The event begins at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and travels south to Poet’s Beach. Small decorated hand push floats, wagons, bicycles, and pedi-cabs that can fit on the sidewalk are highly encouraged.
