K103 and Concordia University are pleased to honor and support outstanding educators making a difference in the lives of students in their schools each month. Congratulations to this month’s honored educator, Nancy Fallin, 3rd Grade Teacher at Valley Catholic Elementary School in Beaverton.
All of us at K103 and Concordia University are deeply honored to bestow the K103 Honor Roll award to Nancy Fallin and Valley Catholic Elementary School.
Congratulations to all of the esteemed educators who are now on the K103 Honor Roll and thanks to our partners at Concordia University and Jersey Mike’s for participating in this worthwhile program!
How many years have you been teaching?
Over 20 years at Valley Catholic (and over 30 years in total!)
Why did you choose this career and why elementary school?
I love to learn and try new ideas so I chose teaching to help students develop a love of learning and a desire to help others in the world around them. Once they get excited about learning, they can do anything! Elementary students are the perfect age because they are excited to try new things and make me laugh daily.
What do you love most about this career?
I enjoy building a working relationship with my students and families. Watching students learn and grow is very rewarding. Every day is different with new surprises and challenges. I am inspired by and learn from my students and fellow teachers daily.
Anything else you’d like to share about your students and/or the school?
I have been blessed to be a part of this community of students, their families, and the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. I love when former students visit from the middle school and high school next door. In recent years I have had children of former students and it is really fun to meet the next generation.
