Because of the hope to stop the spread of the coronavirus, a lot of people will be working from home for an extended period of time. Here are some steps to take in order to be able to do that successfully.
- Setup your home office– You can work from anywhere inside your house, but it's smart to set a designated place for you to do your job. Pick an area with few distractions, and if possible, try to recreate your in-office experience.
- Powering your home office– You'll probably have to plug in a lot of devices in order to work from home, so get a power strip with a surge protector just for your work. Look for one with eight to 12 power outlets so you never have to worry about running out of places to plug in, and if you think you might need it, one with USB.
- What you'll need for your phone– You might be on your phone a lot, and if you want to be able to get other things done you may want to invest in a cellphone stand and power cables that will charge your phone fast, so you don't get caught with a low battery.
- Printer– If you think your time working from home could last a while, you might want to invest in a printer.
