Here's How Expensive It Is To Live In Oregon

Wondering why your bills are so high where you live? There's a lot of factors that go into living expenses, and it varies state by state. But which states are cheaper to get by in, and which ones gouge your wallet?

HomeSnacks looked at 2020 living wage data from MIT rank each state. According to their findings, Mississippi was the cheapest state to live in. "A family of 2 adults and 1 child requires $48,537 to reach a living wage in Mississippi. That’s almost 30% cheaper than California where it takes $68,190 to reach a living wage," they wrote.

So where does Oregon fall?

The study shows Oregon on the higher end of living wages, coming in at the No. 38 spot. To reach a living wage, you need to be making $59,237.

What about the Beaver State's other neighbors? Washington was considered one of the most expensive states to live in, ranked at No. 40. Idaho placed much higher at No. 24 -- you need to make $54,631 to live there.
