K103 Things To Do This Weekend November 11-13

The Veterans Day parade is at 10am in NE Portland. The parade begins at NE Beech St. and MLK, then travels north to NE Sumner St., and turns left onto Sumner, where it concludes. You can join in on the closing ceremony at the Natural Grocers parking lot at 5055 NE MLK Jr. Blvd.

Many businesses want to thank all veterans and active military members. Jiffy Lube is offering Veterans a free signature service oil change. Chili’s, Red Robin and Applebee’s have free meals for vets from a select menu. There’s also free Shrimp at Red Lobster, free coffee at Starbucks and free pizza from Little Caesars. The U.S. Forest Service is waiving fees for all national parks, forests and grasslands in honor of Veterans Day. You can enter any of the country’s 423 national parks for free. The National Park Service is not waiving fees for camping, boat launches, and special tours.

This weekend the stretchy pants go on and don’t come off until New Years Saturday the Portland Cheese and Meat Festival kicks off the calorie-free holidays. Enjoy Cocktails, beers and other snacks that go well with meat and cheese. And you’ll get your own charcuterie board and tasting glass to take home! Also this weekend, the movie that’s sold $45 million in tickets and isn’t even out yet, Wakanda Forever.

Seahawks fans with The NFL Network can stream the first ever NFL game to be played in Germany. And they’re taking on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Munich. The game is set for a 6:30 AM local time kickoff. The Hawks leads the NFC West with a 6-and-3 record.
