Last week, Devan Bonagura posted a 15-second TikTok of the woman, whose name tag identifies her as Nola, sitting alone in the break room of a Walmart store.
Nola is an elderly Walmart employee who may be able to live better thanks to $110,000 raised for her after she was featured in that heart-wrenching TikTok video.
The text on the video read, “Life shouldn’t be this hard,” which has gained more than 26 million views.
An overwhelming response from commenters spurred Devan to set up a GoFundMe. Within 24 hours, it had topped $100,000, far surpassing the initial goal of $10,000.
Deven posted a follow-up video that showed him meeting with Nola to transfer the money.
After THAT video, Devan has since posted a follow up where the fund-raiser says he has surpassed $171,000 for Nola as of Thursday afternoon.
