Portland's oldest food cart pod is reopening as The new Midtown Beer Garden this weekend. It features more than 20 food carts situated around a Bar cart, it’s even got bathrooms with plumbing and security and some of the best street food in Portland. The party with live music is at SW 5th and Harvey Milk downtown this Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m.

PDX Soap Box Derby is Saturday Aug 19. Where grown-ups barrel down Mt Tabor on homemade contraptions. It's pretty fun to watch.

Mic Check PDX kicks off Portland Hip Hop Week Sunday at McMenamin's Mission Theater.
