A woman saved her husband’s life by donating a kidney to him after they were found to be a one in 22 million match.
Donna Creed donated the organ to her gravely ill partner, Darren last month and it has already transformed their lives after he became so sick that he was barely able to hold a conversation.
Twelve years ago, Darren was first diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, which is a genetic disorder that produces cysts in a kidney.
He was facing long-term dialysis until doctors could find a match for a kidney donor…and it just so happened to be his own wife, Donna.
The couple, who have been married for 33 years, scheduled the procedure in July when he was given the go-ahead and underwent the transfer.
