At 98 years old, you'd think Ralph, who didn't want us to use his last name, would be the one receiving food from Meals on Wheels... but he's actually the one delivering the meals
Ralph gets into the driver's seat one day a week to deliver up to 18 meals around Salem/Marion County.
Ralph still has his driver's license. He's had it since he was 17 years old, just about the time he was drafted into the Army during his senior year at Gervais High School.
Ralph says he fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, the largest and bloodiest single battle fought by the United States in World War II, which is where Ralph earned his Purple Heart when a shell hit the tree above him.
Ralph was lucky to make it out alive, and he's spent the past 30 years making it count by helping people in any way he can.
