Transition Projects: Housing is a Human Right

Transition Projects is a Portland based nonprofit dedicated to helping people move from homelessness into stable housing. Operating and managing ten unique sites across the Portland metropolitan area, the organization also facilitates hundreds of apartment placements each year. Through access to caseworkers, healthcare, mentorship, and housing focused support, Transition Projects provides practical resources and human centered services designed to meet people where they are and help them take meaningful steps toward long term stability.

Guided by the belief that housing is a human right, Transition Projects works toward a just community where everyone has access to a safe, affordable home. Their approach is rooted in welcoming people as they are, collaborating openly, acting transparently, and adapting creatively to complex challenges. The organization recognizes that homelessness and the systems that drive it create deep trauma, and that lasting solutions require addressing broader issues such as economic inequality, institutional racism, and discrimination in all forms.
