The on-site referee will stand guard over your belongings and enforce strict no-disturbance rules. Trophies will be awarded in the dream state. Keep Portland Weirder.

Imagine telling your co-workers you spent the weekend grooving to the sweet sounds of “pagan psychedelic goblin jazz.” The 5th annual Overlook Porchfest offers up a uniquely Portland trifecta this weekend. Shop the Mississippi Avenue Street Fair and the beloved Overlook Yard Sale then pop a squat on someone's front lawn to enjoy their porch concert.

The inaugural Portland Arts Week is making its debut this week, running today through Sunday with a variety of arts-focused events taking place throughout Portland. The celebration features exhibits, live performances, community gatherings, and special programming designed to showcase the city's creative community. This is pretty cool, a summer pop up immersive art exhibition called Shifting Realities at Porsche Studio in the Pearl. The car isn’t the product on display, it’s the raw material for the art. Every room is unexpected and it's open through August.

The West Linn Old Time Fair is this weekend at Willamette Park. Come for the parade, stay for the carnival rides, water ski show, car show, lumberjack competitions, food and beer garden, and live music. It opens Friday at 5 PM and admission is free!

The largest French cultural festival in Oregon is going down at the Redd on SE Salmon this Sunday. Portland's 24th Annual Bastille Day Festival is "a joyful gathering for francophones & francophiles" with live French performers, food, drink and activities for the kids.
