Wow!
This is amazing! This 6-year-old boy in Massachusetts wanted to help out Australia in any way he could to cope with the devastation from the wildfires.
Owen Colley had a special connection with Australia since he lived there for a few months when he was a toddler because his father grew up there.
His mother stated that he was very proud of the fact that he lived there. Together, they came up with the idea to create clay koalas to give to family and friends. In exchange, Owen asked for a donation of $50.00 to the Wildlife Rescue South Coast which is a volunteer organization based in New South Wales that helps out rescue, rehabilitate and release Australia's wildlife.
Owen raised $1,000 in donations so far on Venmo and then with his GoFundMe he raised over $51,000!
How sweet!
Every little bit helps!
