Janine’s Browned Butter Sage Ravioli w/ Nuts
Ingredients:
1-Package of fresh Ravioli of your choice; butternut squash, mushroom, cheese or meat-filled. Packages usually contain from 12-18 ravioli.
3/4 -1 stick butter (depends on how much sauce you want & how much you’re making)
12-14 fresh Sage leaves
1/4 cup nuts (Pine nuts & Walnuts work great)
Shredded Parmesan cheese (to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Fresh Ground Pepper (to taste)
Directions:
Following directions on package, cook Ravioli, when done, rinse & arrange on plate
In wide frying pan, melt butter on low heat, add Sage leaves & Walnuts
Cook on low heat, very slowly, turning the Sage & Walnuts
Watch butter to make sure it doesn’t burn, but slowly browns
Watch Sage to make sure it doesn’t burn, but gets lightly crispy
When you reach the stage that butter has browned & sage is lightly crisp, immediately remove from heat (approximately 6-8 minutes)
Pick out Sage & Nuts & arrange evenly over Ravioli
Pour Brown Butter sauce over Ravioli
Sprinkle Parmesan, Salt & Pepper to taste
Makes: 2-4 servings
