A 9-year-old stepped in at the right time to help save a classmate from choking. The second grader was gasping for air and struggling to breathe before his friend took action.
Jayceon Branch, who is 9, and Donye Moore, who is 7, were playing basketball at the time.
The moment was captured on school surveillance video where you can see Donye stop playing perform the lifesaving technique without hesitation.
The boys' mothers saw video of the incident for the first time Sunday. They were still in disbelief of what they saw.
The two students were already great friends, but this incident drew a greater bond between the two and the school plans to celebrate Jayceon’s act of heroism soon at the school.
