A group of Georgia men has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous basketball game…playing for 121 hours and 3 minutes to raise awareness and support for survivors of sex trafficking.
The game ended at 10 a.m. Friday, breaking the previous record by 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
A total of 23 players completed the marathon. Participants ranged in age from 17 to 64 and were required to stay inside the gym for the entire duration of the event. They rotated in shifts, took brief scheduled breaks, and slept on the sidelines when off the court.
Organizers say the record-breaking performance is just one part of their broader mission to reduce the demand for trafficking and support survivor recovery.
