Stacey & Mike's Happy News: The Great Racoon Rescue Mission

A raccoon that had been seen stuck at a windowsill at the federal building in Virginia was helped down by officers shortly before noon on Tuesday.

One of the officers climbed out onto a ledge wearing gloves and got a hold of the animal, but the raccoon didn’t appear too keen on being handled and fought its way free and fell a couple stories down.

After the fall, the raccoon climbed down some stairs by the federal building. Officers say it went under a wooden pallet, out of reach and officers say they set up a live trap with food and water and hope to completely catch the raccoon this week.

Once the raccoon is caught, they say it will be checked out, and if it’s OK, it will be released at a wildlife management area.
