Portland Parks and Recreation Department's Summer Free For All is back! We love this so much, a way to get out with the kiddos for FREE! There’s fitness in the park, cultural events, movies in the park and Free Lunch + Play. The first of those is tomorrow at the new Parklane Park with free lunch served from 11:30am to 1pm. or until meals run out.

Get ready to brine and beer the night away at Picklefest with the Portland Pickles, where the dill-icious fun never ends, and the brews are as fresh as the pickles. Sip on your favorite local craft brews, sample tasty treats, and get pickled all night long. So grab your friends, raise a mug to good times, and get fermented at the festival that’s truly in a pickle of fun. That’s at Portland Pickles Walker Stadium starting at 3:30 PM.

The Oak Grove Festival is back this Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a lively day packed with food, music, fun and local flavor. Held along Southeast Oak Grove Boulevard, it’s a neighborhood event with the charm of classic cars and free kids’ entertainment.

The Oregon Midsommer Festival will be at Nordic Northwest in SW Portland.

It's the final weekend of The Oregon Renaissance Faire at The Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby.

The annual Kids Obstacle Challenge is Saturday…the largest obstacle and adventure race in the PNW at Portland International Raceway, starting at 8:30 AM.

Tigard’s Movies in the Park events are taking place at different parks throughout the city. Activities start at 7 p.m. Movies start at dusk. The Parks and Rec team hand out free popcorn. There are also food vendors. June 27 - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at Dirksen Education Center, 11130 SW Tigard St.

The third annual Brentwood-Darlington Artisan Market market is Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brentwood-Darlington Community Center. This free, family-friendly event is your chance to support more than 30 local artisans, makers, and creatives. Plus a special showcase of rising talent in the Kid Artist Zone featuring eight youth vendors.

The Oregon Beverage Recycling Coop is launching this year's Hidden Bottle Hunt. Six commemorative bottles have been placed in parks and trails around Oregon. The Bottle Drop website will have a new clue every morning through Sunday. If you find one, you get to keep it and choose a nonprofit to receive a one-thousand-dollar donation.

It’s the last couple days of Portland’s Nacho Week. For just $10 a plate, you can sample wild nacho creations from local chefs—think pork belly burnt ends, bánh mì toppings, and even meatball parm mashups. There’s a new mobile pass this year and a $500 Visa gift card up for grabs just for participating.

Regal Cinemas is offering $1 movies to keep your kiddos busy this summer. The Regal Summer Movie Express will offer family-friendly movies on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for only a dollar a show. 

AMC Theaters are adding 1/2 off Wednesdays this summer beginning July 9. You’ll need to sign up for the AMC Stubs rewards program. AMC already offers discounted tickets on Tuesdays for Stubs members, which will continue.

PLANNING FOR THE 4th:

With July 4th on a Friday many are flying out on Wednesday. TSA is predicting about 19m travelers will fly this holiday weekend. If you’ve got flights booked on Sunday July 6th, that will be the busiest day at PDX. 

If you’re road trippin, AAA says gas prices are up to about $4.08 per gallon in Oregon and $4.46 a gallon in Washington. A bit higher than the national average of $3.23 per gallon. Busiest car travel days will be Wednesday July 2nd and Sunday the 6th.

If you’re planning a staycation for the 4th and want to venture outside your backyard, there’s a lot to do…The Waterfront Blues Festival and Fireworks, Oaks Park has fireworks, The St. Paul Rodeo and Portland Craft Brew Festival. TRAFFIC ALERT:

The Highway 217 closure returns this weekend. All southbound lanes will be closed in Beaverton and Tigard. Last weekend's closure was delayed, because of rain. Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Highway 217 southbound will be closed from Canyon Road to Highway 99W.
