In Stockton Springs, Maine, summer just got a little brighter for dogs thanks to the “Dog Library.” which offers free sticks and tennis balls for pups to enjoy while visiting the beach with their humans.
George Russell, the town’s public works director, came up with the idea, and it’s already proving to be a hit with local dog owners. The tennis balls are even take-home friendly…no need to return them
Since opening just a week ago, the Dog Library has quickly become a favorite feature at the beach, drawing crowds of playful pups daily. Russell says it feels great to have built something simple that brings so much joy.
The Dog Library will be open all summer and into November.
