In England, two baby hedgehogs were rescued from a storm drain using a little creativity and some quick thinking.
A concerned homeowner heard cries from the drain in her garden and called the local Hedgehog Rescue (they have one for real).
Firefighters initially tried to use a vacuum to gently suck the hedgehog out, but when that didn’t work, the team improvised with a plastic curtain tube.
The baby hedgehog, drawn to the safety of the enclosed space, crawled inside the tube and was safely pulled out. Its sibling, found nearby, was also rescued and both were unharmed.
The animals are now safe and recovering with the charity, with plans to release them back into the wild soon.
