In Pennsylvania a Postal carrier named Sarah Van de Laar turned her ordinary delivery route into a life-saving mission. While driving she saw a red sedan lose control and crash into a yard.
After checking on the disoriented driver, she watched in horror as he suddenly slumped over in his seat. Without hesitation, Sarah pulled him from the car, and she immediately began CPR until emergency crews arrived.
The driver survived thanks to her quick action, and a month later Sarah had the chance to meet him face-to-face, describing the moment as “almost like a gift.” The six-year postal veteran has since received an award for heroism from the USPS.
