When the sound suddenly cut out during a James Taylor concert in Boston last week, the legendary singer-songwriter didn’t miss a beat…and neither did his fans.
Performing at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway, James was in the middle of singing “Sweet Baby James” when the audio dropped. But instead of stopping the show, the 77-year-old icon laughed it off as the crowd picked up the chorus and sang along word for word.
One of his crew even handed him a megaphone so he could keep going. He later posted on TikTok saying, “Turns out it doesn’t even matter if the sound goes out… if you have the right audience.”
The heartfelt moment instantly became a favorite memory for concertgoers, many of whom commented that they’d never forget it.
