After a week-long adventure that took her all the way to North Carolina, Francine, the beloved cat who has lived at Lowe’s for eight years, is finally back home.
Francine went missing in late September after she apparently wandered onto a delivery truck, sparking a massive community search. Volunteers created a “Where’s Francine?” Instagram page that quickly gained over 30,000 followers and 9 million views.
Local animal groups joined the effort, and even Lowe’s corporate brought in thermal drones to help search the company’s enormous North Carolina distribution center. The breakthrough came when an employee, Wayne Schneider, spotted Francine on camera and found her safe the next day.
Francine, who was checked by a vet and is in good health, has already resumed her usual post greeting customers at Lowe’s.
