Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Taco Hero Steps Up, Everybody Wins!

When the payment system crashed at Wichita’s popular Tacos TJ 664, hungry customers were left waiting in a long line only to learn the restaurant could only take cash.

Among them was the Shear family, who sadly turned to leave after realizing they didn’t have enough.

That’s when a kind stranger stepped forward and handed them $100, insisting dinner was on him. He even tipped the frazzled staff afterward, leaving everyone stunned by his quiet generosity.

The family later shared the story online, and Wichita locals quickly helped identify their “Taco Hero” as a man named Jared. When asked why he did it, Jared said he grew up poor and was taken in by a family who raised him and changed his life

Now, he simply wants to pay that kindness forward. Tacos TJ 664 honored him with free tacos for the rest of the year, and his story has been inspiring locals ever since.
