When Texas nurse Larissa Gonzalez gave birth to her son eight weeks early, she never imagined how much it would change her life. Her little boy, Caleb, spent 31 days in the NICU, just down the hall from where she worked as an ICU nurse.
What started as a scary, emotional experience turned into something beautiful and showed her what true compassion in medicine looks like.
Fast forward two years, and she’s now a full-time NICU nurse, working alongside some of the very people who helped her during her toughest days.
Larissa says her mission now is simple: to remind new parents that they’re never alone and that sometimes the hardest moments can lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
