A Baltimore mom is being called a hero after making an impossible decision to save her two young sons during a house fire. She woke up early Tuesday morning to the sound of the smoke alarm and quickly realized the first floor of her home was already in flames.
Trapped on the second floor, she opened a window and did the only thing she could think of. A neighbor who heard the screams ran over and stood below, promising he would catch the boys.
Trusting him completely, she dropped her youngest son first, then convinced her older son, who she said was terrified and holding onto the wall, that jumping was the only way they would survive.
Both boys landed safely in the neighbor’s arms, and other neighbors soon helped get their mom down with a ladder.
While the cause of the fire is still being investigated, the family returned home to see the damage and was overwhelmed by the kindness of the people who rushed to help.
