Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Cool Art That Only Appears When It Rains

A rainy city usually means gray skies and wet sidewalks, but in Seattle it also sparked a creative idea that turned rain into art.

It’s an eco-friendly spray that creates images and messages on sidewalks that only appear when the pavement gets wet. When it is dry you cannot see anything, but as soon as the rain falls, hidden artwork suddenly reveals itself.

The idea first went viral when a video showed someone tossing a bucket of water onto a sidewalk and revealing a surprise hopscotch board that seemed to appear out of nowhere.

The city of Seattle has even commissioned the artwork at bus stops, including a plaza in Beacon Hill where sea lions, an orca, a giant wave, and even a maze appear on the ground whenever it rains.
