In Fort Worth, a routine meal delivery for 19‑year‑old Meals on Wheels volunteer Alexander Dzivak became an urgent rescue when he arrived at Ms. Lana’s home.
Ms Lana had collapsed from a diabetic episode in her kitchen and couldn’t move, but she saw Alexander on her doorbell camera and used her phone to call out for help
He called emergency services and stayed with her virtually through the doorbell video keeping her calm until paramedics arrived
First responders reached her in less than five minutes, stabilized her and, according to Ms. Lana, likely saved her life; she later said she was terrified and alone and that Alexander’s timing was “unbelievable”
