At just 33 years old, Kaedi Cecala learned she had a serious bone marrow condition that would continue to worsen without a stem cell transplant.
What she needed was a donor, but finding a match can often take years. In her case, it happened in just two months. Across the world, a young man she had never met was a perfect match, and without hesitation, he stepped forward to help save her life.
That donor turned out to be Karol Zwierzinski, a 25-year-old from Poland and after the transplant and a long waiting period, the two finally connected when Kaedi invited Karol to her wedding… and he came.
Their emotional meeting, captured on video, has now touched millions, and today Kaedi is in remission.
