Record Store Day is this Saturday. Whether you’re a seasoned vinyl collector or just getting into it, it’s a great day to spend going through the stacks of wax. Go see Terry Courier over at Music Millennium on Burnside (opening at 8am Sat), or 2nd Ave, Jump Jump Music, The Record Pub in Sellwood. Check out the PDX Monthly list of Portland's best record stores. This year's official Ambassador is Bruno Mars. Taylor Swift is releasing a limited edition vinyl of two of her hit songs. Ariana Grande, Charli xcx and Selena Gomez are also taking part in the event. In 2025, vinyl record sales surpassed one-billion dollars for the first time since 1983. Fun Fact: Questlove, Grammy and Academy Award-winning musician, DJ drummer for the Roots, and Tonight Show bandleader, has repeatedly named Portland as his “all-time favorite city” And not just for the food carts, 60 percent of his massive record collection comes from here.

Running for over 20 years in Portland, the iconic Bridge to Brews race is Portland’s Running Beer Festival! Taking place on a beautiful spring Sunday at Waterfront Park for the annual 10k, 8k, 5k run and BEV MILE. After the race, enjoy a hosted beer and cider tasting event on the waterfront, sip on some of Portland’s best beer and cider while enjoying music, games, and local vendors.

Some beautiful places to enjoy the blooms include Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, Portland Japanese Garden and Lan Su Chinese Garden. Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens hosts Lilac Days to celebrate the beauty blooms and legacy of a plant pioneer. The annual event takes place for 23 days on a quaint historic farm just off of I-5 in Woodland, Washington. It starts this Saturday April 18th and goes through May 10th. Great Mother's Day idea!

There’s a puffin party at the coast and you're invited. Tufted puffins nest on the Oregon Coast from mid-April through August, and they love Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Saturday is going to be perfect weather-wise with super low tides, so Cannon Beach is throwing a welcome party from 730-10a, which is the best time of day to spot them. Pufflings, btw are the baby version of puffins and they will hatch this summer and can be seen at Haystack Rock from late June through early August.

The 56th Anniversary of Earth Day is coming up Wednesday April 22 but many events including Earth Day in Multnomah Village are happening this weekend. PDX Parent Has a great list of ideas for the fam.

Kurt Russel will be back in Portland May 9 for The Hollywood Theater’s 100th anniversary and a showing of his 80’s scifi horror flick The Thing. The Hollywood will show a a 35mm presentation of “The Thing,” followed by a live onstage Q&A with Russell.

#BloomTourPDX is coming back for year 3, May 21-June 8! This is one of the most beautiful ways to spend an afternoon in Portland. Walking, connecting and of course getting pictures for the gram of inspiring unique floral installations around town. The Bloody Mary Festival returns to Portland for its 8th annual event at the Redd on Salmon May 30. Top Portland bars, restaurants and artisanal bottled mixes will vie for the title of "Best Bloody Mary in Portland." An expert panel of judges will determine the ultimate Bloody Mary in Portland, but attendees will be able to vote and crown the "People's Choice Award" for best in Portland.
