Near the very end of the Boston Marathon, when every second matters and runners are digging deep just to finish, something pretty incredible happened.
One runner suddenly collapsed with severe leg cramps just shy of the finish line, barely able to stand. While most competitors kept going, two runners made a split-second decision to stop.
They each grabbed an arm, lifted him up, and together the three of them pushed forward down the final stretch.
What makes it even more powerful is what they gave up in that moment. One of the runners was on pace for a personal best, and the other had his own goals on the line, but they chose to help anyway.
All three ended up needing medical attention afterward, but thankfully recovered quickly.
