Hippie Chick, the original Women’s Half Marathon race, is open to everyone. In 2026, the run once again returns to the birthplace of this great event at Champoeg State Park.

Doggie Dash 2026 is Saturday May 9 at 7:30am. Bring your pup to Waterfront Park for Oregon Humane's biggest fundraiser of the year! There will be animal-loving local businesses, food trucks, dog agility course, family-friendly activities, a Libation Station for 21+, live music, and contests for you and your pup! Make sure you stop by the Photo Booth for a keepsake pic and say hello to your host Mike Chase! Dashers who fundraised $500+ can enjoy complimentary treats in the VIP Tent, including goodies and perks!

Kurt Russel will be back in Portland Saturday for The Hollywood Theater’s 100th anniversary and a showing of his 80’s sci-fi horror flick The Thing. The Hollywood will show a a 35mm presentation of “The Thing,” followed by a live onstage Q&A with Russell.

The Portland Fire will host the Chicago Sky for their WNBA regular season opener Saturday with a special halftime performance by one Ashanti. The last time the Fire played a regular season home game was 2002, when Ashanti was at the top of the charts. And she and Nelly were a thing for a hot minute. Sweet story - they reconnected 20 years later, got married in 2023 and now have a son together.

The Timbers are in town this weekend playing Sporting Kansas City at Providence Park Saturday at 7:30pm

Take Mom on a bloom tour. Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a nice stop for Mother’s Day. And this weekend is their Mother’s Day Rhododendron Show and Sale. Rhododendron enthusiasts will be displaying the finest blooms from their own gardens, with the chance to win a trophy or ribbon. Rhododendrons and azaleas will also be available for purchase. Plus, it’s peak duckling season—wander the gardens and see how many you can spot. Crystal Springs is at 5801 SE 28th in Portland.

For peony lovers, this is our time of year! If you've never been to Adelman Peony Gardens in Salem it's gorgeous fields of flowers to enjoy and take pics. You can also purchase cut flowers or live peony plants for your own garden. Open now through June 15, you can find current bloom status here.

Rose Festival is almost here and with it a BIG change to the beloved parades. The Grand Floral and Starlight parades will combine for the CareOregon Grand Floral Starlight Parade Saturday June 6 from 6:30pm-10:30pm. Join Stacey & Mike as your parade route hosts from Pioneer Courthouse Square. City Fair's opening day is Friday May 22 from 5-8pm The fireworks are May 30 at 10pm and Fleet Week is June 4-7 at Waterfront Park.

#BloomTourPDX is coming back for year 3, May 21-June 8! This is one of the most beautiful ways to spend an afternoon in Portland. Walking, connecting and of course getting pictures for the gram of inspiring unique floral installations around town. If you’re looking for something to stream with mom this weekend, some networks have shows and movies themed for Mother’s Day. Bad Moms and The Parent Trap is on TBS. A 24 hour One Day At A Time marathon is on Antenna TV. Netflix listed 20 shows to stream and binge with Mom. Their top picks include Call The Midwife, Bridgerton, Dead To Me, Gilmore Girls

For fans of Billie Eilish...and puppies...go see the Billie’s new JAMES CAMERON produced movie “Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Movie Live in 3D” hits theatres this Friday.”

Matt Damon hosts SNL for the 3rd time with musical guest Noah Kahan. Then next Saturday is the season finale with Will Farrell and Paul McCartney.

Stacey: Widows Bay starring Matthew Rhys. And The Americans starring real life couple Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys. They actually met and fell in love while filming it. We're late to this party but so excited to have SIX seasons to watch, shows never do that anymore!
