While working near a pond behind his parents’ home, Yanni Sarris suddenly heard a loud crash and saw an SUV speeding across nearby yards before plunging into the water.
Inside were a mother and her eight year old daughter. Without hesitation, Yanni jumped into the pond after hearing the little girl screaming for help. He first reached the child, who had managed to unbuckle herself, and got her safely to shore before promising her he would do everything he could to save her mom too.
Thanks to Yanni, both mother and daughter survived and later reunited with this man they now call family.
During an emotional meeting afterward, the little girl thanked him for saving her and her mom, while Yanni insisted she was brave too.
