Just after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, callers to 9-1-1 reported an explosion in the outdoor food court located in the 4200 block of SW Rose Biggi Avenue in Beaverton. A nearby Beaverton Police Officer heard the explosion and was first to arrive at the scene.

Within a few minutes, a crew from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue's Station 67 arrived and confirmed that there was no active fire. They treated the woman who was operating the food cart at the time of the explosion.

The woman was initially pulled from the damaged debris by bystanders and sustained minor injuries. She was transported by Metro West Ambulance to Providence St. Vincent Hospital for further evaluation. There were no other injuries.

The explosion caused significant damage to one food cart and minor damage to an adjacent unit. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental in nature. The food court will remain closed for the rest of the day.
