NWABA Provides Sports & Activity To Blind Individuals

Did you know that people who are blind or visually impaired can swim, kayak, run, and even ski and snowboard? Northwest Association for Blind Athletes makes that a reality. Their programs empower individuals who are blind in our community to get active, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. NWABA provides sport and physical activity to individuals of all ages and abilities with visual impairments in over 20 different sports.

Programs Include:

Camp Spark offers sports, cooking, talent shows, and more, helping campers gain confidence and independence.

Virtual Workouts are audio-described, high-contrast, and designed for people with visual impairments.

Sports Outreach. provides various physical activity and sport opportunities through on-going programs, clinics and Paralympic Experiences to ensure that individuals of all ages and abilities who are blind and visually impaired have access to participate.

All programs are provided at no-cost to athletes, with transportation from a central location. Whether you are learning to swim or are an expert downhill skier, you have a place with NWABA!

“‘Losing my eyesight was hard, but losing my athletic identity was even harder,’ says Prateek, an athlete served by Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. ‘They helped me find my inner athlete and shine again.’
